Invasive Species: The Bullfrog

Species: Bullfrog
Native to: Central and Eastern America
Date of U.S. Introduction: Early 1900's
Place of U.S. Introduction: Place is unknown due to accidental introduction. Theorized to have started in either California or Arizona.
Impact: Though not threatening this species challenges other native species in the western region where it most often thrives, feeding off of the food sources of other animals and taking over habitats. Other amphibians and amphibian eating animals in swamps, marshes, and wetlands are the most commonly affected from this species. ex Herons, snakes, California red-legged frogs, Western toad, etc.
